David Devine

David first got involved in Athletics at the DSE Championships in Blackpool three years ago and he was inspired by the other athletes that were competing. At London 2012, he was a double bronze medallist.

Prior to London 2012, his greatest achievement was winning bronze in the T12 800m at the 2011 IPC Athletics World Championships in Christchurch, New Zealand.

On his Games debut, David won his first bronze medal in the T13 1500m and, classified as a T12 athlete, he set a personal best and European record time of 3:49.79 in the process. The next night, he was back on the track to compete in the T12 800m and produced a strong sprint finish to secure a second bronze medal.

Sport runs in David’s family and both his brothers are keen footballers and athletes, while his father used to be a professional boxer. David is also a budding footballer and closely follows Liverpool FC in his spare time

David has a visual impairment.
