When Deb started to ride again after her accident in 1985, she returned to the riding school (Deepley Riding School) she had attended as a teenager, who worked with her and put her in contact with her local RDA group (Sandhill Park Group). Her first competitive experience came in 1987, when she competed at a RDA regional Dressage competition.

One of the highlights of Deb's Paralympic career was the 2004 Athens Paralympic Games, where she won gold in both of her Individual events and the Team event.

Due to a lack of horsepower, Deb was out of top level competition for a brief period, but the purchase of LJT Akilles by the Lady Joseph Trust in 2011 ensured Deb could again compete at international level.

At London 2012, Deb competed at her fourth Paralympic Games. In the Team event, ParalympicsGB maintained their record of winning every Paralympic title since the sport was formally introduced to the programme in 1996, with Deb taking to the podium alongside Lee Pearson, Sophie Wells and Sophie Christiansen. She also produced strong performances in both of her Individual events to bring home two silver medals.

"None of us want to be on a team that doesn't bring home the medals."Deb Criddle

Now a regular on Britain’s Equestrian Dressage team, Deb also competes in non-disabled Dressage competitions.

In the 2013 New Year's Honours, Deb was awarded a MBE.
