Matt Walker MBE
Matt started Swimming at a very young age as part of his physiotherapy. London was his fourth Paralympic Games.

He has now represented Great Britain in competition for over 15 years. In that time he has won three gold, five silver and four bronze Paralympic medals. He trains at Manchester HPC and also coaches at a local swimming club.
Matt has won medals at each of his Games appearances since he made his debut in Sydney in 2000. One of his personal career highlights is the 2010 IPC World Championships in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, where he won gold in the 50m Freestyle (S7), his favourite event.
At London 2012, Matt won bronze in the 50m Freestyle (S7) with a time of 28.47 seconds. He also ranked 7th in the 50m Butterfly (S7).

Matt graduated with a Masters Degree in Business from Manchester University in 2001 and he has been a Scout Leader for more than 15 years. In 2008 he was awarded a MBE for services to disability sport.
