Sally was selected to make her Paralympic debut at the London 2012 Games. In the T46 200m, she equaled her season's best with a time of 27.78 and finished 4th in her heat, narrowly missing out on a place in the final. However, she qualified for her first Paralympic final in the T46 100m, where she finished in 6th place with a time of 13.74 seconds.

Sally cites her sporting hero as Jessica Ennis. In 2010, she was awarded the Sports Person with a Disability Award in 2010 from the Belfast Telegraph.

In addition to her training commitments, Sally is also keen to continue focussing on her education. After completing her GCSEs in 2011, her ambition is to go on to study for her A-Levels and subsequently attend university.
