Sara has been playing Table Tennis for over 10 years. She was originally focused on Wheelchair Basketball, however when her boyfriend introduced her to Table Tennis she secretly took lessons to try and beat him, in the process discovering that she had a talent for the sport.

In addition to Paralympic competition, highlights of her career so far include winning the bronze medal in the Team class 1-3 event at the 2010 World Championships in Gwangju, Korea and winning a gold medal in the women’s Team class 3 event at the 2011 European Championships.

At London 2012, Sara reached the semi-finals of the women's Class 3 Singles competition, where she was beaten by the experienced Slovakian player Alena Lanova to finish in 4th place. 

In the class 1-3 Team event, Sara continued her successful partnership with Jane Campbell and, after an epic five-match battle against Turkey in the final - where the duo nearly exited the competition - the pair faced a strong Italian team in the bronze medal match. In another tightly fought competition, the pair triumphed, bringing home bronze for ParalympicsGB.
