Low-carbon lifestyle

We want to demonstrate that living a low-carbon lifestyle is not only possible; it’s usually healthier and more fun! The ParalympicsGB team is filled with committed people from all walks of life. We want to encourage you to make more sustainable choices, provide carbon-cutting and money-saving advice and help you to make a difference in your communities.

As well as supporting you as our athletes in the Paralympic Games, we want to help you do things differently when it comes to your home, travel and food, the three areas that account for more than 60% of your carbon footprint.

Reducing waste, saving money on your home energy bills, eating locally sourced produce and cutting carbon from your transport footprint are all important. For example, we throw away more than seven million tonnes of food and drink every year from our homes. Look out for the tips and information we’ll be providing throughout the Camp or look on-line at www.teamgreenbritain.org.

At the ParalympicsGB camp we’re committed to minimising our carbon footprint and offsetting the remainder so that the camp is 100% carbon neutral.

Together, we can demonstrate better ways to do everyday things.
