Shooting

Shooting became a Paralympic Games sport in 1980 during the sixth Paralympic Games in Arnhem, Holland.

The shooting competition is divided into rifle and pistol events, air and .22 calibre.

Athletes shoot from three positions: standing or sitting, kneeling and prone. The programme includes men's, women's, mixed and team events although team events are not held at the Paralympic Games.
