Talent ID

With the Beijing Games - one of the most successful Paralympic Games to date - come and gone the focus now rests on the London 2012 Paralympics and the pressure is on for ParalympicsGB to build on the successes in Beijing.

Competing in arguably the greatest Games on earth is an athletes dream but winning a gold medal is the ultimate prize and it is the aspirations of ParalympicsGB and the Paralympic sports to fight for every medal available on home soil.

Statistics reveal that more countries than ever before are winning, or have the potential to win, gold medals at Paralympic level, making the Games environment increasingly more competitive. In addition to Chinese domination, Britain's athletes will also have to contend with other strong Paralympic nations, including USA, Ukraine and Australia.

With this in mind ParalympicsGB and the Paralympic sports in Britain, are working collaboratively on a number of talent initiatives to strategically capitalise on medal opportunities and to continue to bring new talented athletes into the sports.

The ultimate aim is to identify potential athletes who can be ‘fast-tracked’ to Paralympic success in 2012 as well as at the Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Winter Games.

If you have read the above statement and feel you have what it takes to win a medal at the Games then you could be what we are looking for.
ParalympicsGB is running a number of talent identification initiatives, including a series of Talent ID Days. For more information email talent@paralympics.org.uk
