Spectacular ceremony closes PyeongChang 2018

Nine days of action, 281 medals, agony, ecstasy, and everything in between. The PyeongChang 2018 Paralympic Winter Games are officially over.

Where the Opening Ceremony showed a South Korea embracing the future, the curtain fell on these Games with a reminder of how old and new work in harmony in the traditionally sleepy town of PyeongChang.

So it was with the Games as new stars emerged while the old guard showed the sporting prowess that had propelled them to the top.

And, where Sochi, Vancouver and Turin had succeeded, PyeongChang went further, selling more tickets than ever before as well as producing medallists from more countries – ushering in a new era for the Paralympic Winter Games.

For ParalympicsGB it proved particularly memorable and was Great Britain’s most successful Paralympic Winter Games of all time – with seven medals including slalom gold for Menna Fitzpatrick and Jennifer Kehoe.
