2023 bursary recipient Samantha Kinghorn commented on how receiving this award helped her achieve her goals in 2023: “I’m so grateful to the Nicholas Cheffings Para Athlete bursary. The bursary helped me with my travel expenses to qualification races and to go on warm weather training trips. Without the bursary I wouldn’t have been able to achieve what I did last year, becoming world champion.”

In addition to supporting individual Para athletes through the Nicholas Cheffings bursaries, Hogan Lovells is also a Gold Partner and the Official Legal Services Provider to ParalympicsGB through the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games, providing continued legal support to the organisation across a variety of areas. In 2020 this included critical support on the impact of COVID-19 and the rescheduling of the Tokyo 2020 Summer Games which took place in 2021.

Hogan Lovells UK Managing Partner, Penny Angell, said: “We are very proud of our long-standing relationship with ParalympicsGB and knowing that these bursaries are helping to support athletes in their ambitions to compete at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. This support reflects our strong commitment to championing diversity, inclusion and equality and we look forward to supporting ParalympicsGB and our Para athletes as they continue to achieve their aspirations and goals, hopefully including Paris later this year.”
