RIP Graham Peacock

We are saddened to announce the passing of Graham Peacock, ParalympicsGB Honorary Vice President, who died on 25 March 2024 aged 91.

Graham was a pioneer of snow sport in the UK and managed the Para alpine skiing team at several Paralympic Winter Games, whilst also an instructor and coach at artificial ski slopes in England.

Fellow ParalympicsGB Honorary Vice President Mike Brace said: “His gentle, calming approach and knowledge of what equipment might suit individual skiers, and where to get it, was truly outstanding. He was passionate about enhancing ParalympicsGB’s success in winter sport and the achievements in recent Games are due in some part to his relentless efforts. Graham, you will be missed greatly and you have the unending gratitude of ParalympicsGB for all you accomplished.”

ParalympicsGB chair Nick Webborn said: “It was my privilege and pleasure to meet Graham at my first winter Paralympic games in Nagano in 1998 where he demonstrated his extensive knowledge for Para alpine skiing and his passion for the movement. He continued to support the development of winter Para sports through his work in Alpine skiing and through the ParalympicsGB Board. He was the most lovely and kind gentleman and will be sadly missed. We are also touched by his final wishes that donations made in remembrance are given to ParalympicsGB.”
