Great Britain’s women bowed out of the European Sitting Volleyball Championships after finishing ninth in Budapest.

Ian Legrand’s team continued to play in the Placement Round of the competition but suffered a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Slovenia.

GB lost the first set 25-9 but fought back matching Slovenia in the second set, but their opponents pulled away to 25-15 before securing the result with a 25-13 score in the third.

In their final match of the tournament GB played Finland, who had been in their group earlier in the competition, but despite a strong start the result was the same as Finland won 3-0.

Britain will end the tournament in ninth place while the winners of the competition automatically qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
