Champion Change with ParalympicsGB

ParalympicsGB is the force for change for disabled people across the UK. We harness the inspirational impact of Paralympic athletes to challenge the perception of disability and fight for equity for disabled people. Through a wide range of programmes, campaigns, and collaborations, we are reshaping the future for disabled people - and we need your help.

Supporting Paralympic athletes

We support athletes before, during, and after the Paralympic Games.

ParalympicsGB Performance Centre brings together leading experts in sports science and sports medicine to work collaboratively. This seamless, integrated service spans multiple disciplines and is provided within the “GB bubble,” away from other competing nations. In line with the care provided in the UK, it offers a safe and comfortable space for our team to receive the necessary care and support. This environment ensures our athletes can perform at their best on the world stage.

The Paralympic Inspiration Programme nurtures aspiring Paralympians, giving them the tools and confidence needed to become future champions and role models. Over a third of participants have earned Paralympic medals.

Changing perceptions and pushing for equity

Our programmes, like Get Set: Be the Change, empower young people to create more inclusive communities. These initiatives bring together disabled and non-disabled young people, guided by Paralympic role models, to make real change.

“For our pupils, seeing strong disabled athletes as role models is incredibly powerful. It helps them understand disability in a meaningful way.” – Teacher

ParalympicsGB’s Equal Play campaign and film, launched in Paris 2024, calls for inclusive sports and Physical Education in schools for disabled. We are thrilled with the positive response from everyone but to create sustainable change for the 1.5 million disabled children across the UK, we need to continue the momentum to turn promises and commitments into reality by LA 2028. With your help, we can deliver a suite of ground-breaking projects to achieve this vision.

It's time for Equal Play

Quote

“Exclusion is a choice. Inclusion requires effort and a desire to act.”
