Hogan Lovells have supported the British Paralympic Association since before Beijing 2008 and are proudly supporting us as a Gold Partner through until Paris 2024. Hogan Lovells is our Official Legal Services Provider and has provided the BPA with legal advice, secondments (including in-Games legal support) and volunteers across numerous areas, supporting ParalympicsGB to achieve historic performances at London 2012, Sochi 2014, Rio 2016 and PyeongChang 2018.

Hogan Lovells use their partnership with ParalympicsGB to live their values on diversity and inclusion, to increase client and employee engagement and loyalty, and to add warmth to their brand. They extend their commitment to para sport through their annual Nicholas Cheffings Para athlete bursary.

Athlete Bursary

The “Nicholas Cheffings Para Athletes Bursary” is named after the firm’s former Chair and highly committed champion of diversity, inclusion, and equality at Hogan Lovells. Each year since 2018, Hogan Lovells gives athletes the opportunity to apply to be a recipient of their bursary programme. The 202021 athletes are targeting a spot in the ParalympicsGB team competing at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. The athletes can use their bursary to help support their training which might include purchasing and replacing vital equipment, paying for travel to training camps and competitions, additional coaching, and training support services.

Bursary athletes also participate in appearances and social media activations with Hogan Lovells to help strengthen the relationship internally between Hogan Lovells’ employees and the athletes, while increasing visibility and engagement opportunities around the partnership with ParalympicsGB.
