Professor Nick Webborn runs for IPC Governing Board elections

ParalympicsGB are delighted to announce our former President, Professor Nick Webborn’s candidacy for Vice-President (and Member-at-Large) for the International Paralympic Committee’s Governing Board elections next month in Seoul, South Korea.

Nick’s service to the Paralympic movement spans more than three decades of service and leadership, as an athlete, medical practitioner, researcher and President of ParalympicsGB.

As a former Para athlete in wheelchair tennis, Nick brings an athlete-centred perspective to championing welfare, inclusion and integrity at the highest levels alongside a blend of strategic leadership, scientific expertise, and personal experience.

Dame Sarah Storey is ParalympicsGB’s most successful athlete winning 19 gold medals across an incredible nine Paralympic games. She said: “I couldn’t think of a more suitable candidate for the International Paralympic Committee Governing Board. Nick’s energy, dedication, and his enthusiasm is exactly what we need to continue to help Paralympic sport go from strength to strength in the coming years.”
